Q: Why are the holidays so hard?

A: Because we have such strong traditions and such loving memories around the holidays that ignite all of our senses.....Christmas movies, the type of music we choose (my parents ONLY played the Christmas album by Charlie pride which is so dear to my heart as a child over and over) memories of taste OF food food… The smells in our homes which reminded us of the time of year and how safe we felt. The conversations we had, hugs we exchanged, the words that were said again… “Ignite” memories of love ones… that are now missing from our lives.

Our strongest memories probably come from this time of year. ❤️

On that note, I haven’t known anyone who hasn’t made new memories

but for now we must do our time on the island.

(Referring to the movie Cast Away)

❤️
